She is part of the trend (like Gorillaz) of animated singers providing entertainment for the masses.  The girl in me is jealous of Hatsume's long locks, but the feminist in me can't help but wonder if this holographic creation is part of the ongoing male fantasy to create the perfect willing female. She has everything a pop starlet has: adoring fans, interviews, merchandise, and charities. And no one has to hand out a paycheque for her unrealistic demands. The money goes straight to the company who owns her.  She is the brainchild of Crypton Future Media and Hatsume is a hologram, the first of its kind in the world. And she is the biggest sensation to hit Japan. Move over Ke$ha and Britney, there's a new pop holo-bitch in town!
